The Nike Air Max 90 Photon Dust and Blue reimagines one of the most recognizable silhouettes in the history of the Air Max line, retaining the iconic design created by Tinker Hatfield in the early 1990s. The design is based on the classic Air Max 90 silhouette with its layered panel construction, visible Air cushioning, and dynamic sole line, but this version places greater emphasis on a cooler color scheme and more contrasting blue accents. The design remains faithful to the model’s archival proportions and a style inspired by Nike’s running designs from that era.The color scheme is based on a combination of Photon Dust, Smoke Grey, and white with blue details. A light base covers most of the upper, while darker gray elements accentuate the side panels and add depth to the design. More intense blue accents appear around the branding, sole elements, and select design details, breaking up the more neutral character of the design. Thanks to the contrast between the light base and the cool details, the characteristic layered arrangement of the Air Max 90 panels remains clearly visible.The upper is made from a combination of mesh, synthetic panels, and leather reinforcing elements. The mesh provides ventilation and reduces the weight of the construction, while the leather overlays stabilize the whole and maintain the model’s characteristic shape. The combination of several different textures keeps the surface visually dynamic despite the more subdued color scheme. The sewn-on panels and textured elements typical of the Air Max 90 also remain a distinctive detail.The sole utilizes the classic Air Max 90 construction featuring a visible Max Air cushion responsible for cushioning and pressure distribution while walking. The foam midsole enhances comfort, while the rubber outsole with a Waffle pattern provides traction and stability. The extended rear section of the sole further emphasizes the distinctive proportions of the Air Max 90 model.
