The Nike Dunk Low Off-White Michigan is a reinterpretation of the classic 1985 Dunk Low silhouette, created in collaboration with Off-White and Virgil Abloh. The design is based on one of the first colorways from the Nike College Colors program, inspired by the colors of the University of Michigan. The original construction of the basketball model has been preserved, while introducing elements that alter its aesthetic and the way the form is constructed.The color scheme features a vibrant shade of University Gold paired with deep navy. The yellow base covers most of the upper, while navy panels appear on the forefoot, lacing system, and heel. This color arrangement creates a distinct division of the surface and directly references the university’s aesthetic. An additional accent is provided by orange laces threaded through a secondary lacing system, which introduce another level of contrast and highlight the layered construction.The upper is made of smooth-textured leather, which provides stiffness and helps maintain the shoe’s shape. It is complemented by a textile tongue with visible foam and the raw-edged finish characteristic of Off-White designs. The paneled construction reinforces the shoe’s structure, while perforations on the forefoot promote airflow.The sole retains the classic Dunk layout, based on a foam construction and a rubber outsole that provides traction. The low-profile design enhances stability and direct ground contact, reflecting the model’s original purpose as a basketball shoe.The most distinctive features of this version are the collaborative details. Typographic prints adorn the side panels, and the design is complemented by a plastic tag and an additional lacing system. The double lacing, exposed foam, and visible structural elements create an unfinished look, which has become a hallmark of Virgil Abloh’s designs.
