The Air Jordan 3 Laser Phantom and Sail pays homage to an extremely rare design created for Michael Jordan in the early 2000s. This version was inspired by a one-of-a-kind Air Jordan 3 created as part of Mark Smith’s experiments with laser engraving. The modern interpretation retains the classic AJ3 silhouette but replaces some of the typical contrasting panels with an intricate pattern applied directly to the upper’s surface.The Phantom, University Red, Palomino, and Sail colorway is based on warm shades of cream and light beige. The laser-etched graphics covering a significant portion of the upper draw the most attention. Their arrangement creates a dense, irregular texture that serves as the model’s primary visual element. Red accents appear sparingly on the branding, while the Sail-colored outsole keeps the overall color scheme subdued.The Air Jordan 3 Laser Phantom and Sail retains the signature construction of the third Jordan model, featuring a padded collar, a high tongue, and a lacing system with multiple rows of eyelets. The classic form, originally designed by Tinker Hatfield, remains easily recognizable, though laser-etched patterns replace some of the surfaces where traditional AJ3 versions feature simpler textures or the Elephant Print.
